A Break to Focus on ARTing
It’s been a very busy month, focusing very heavily on how I make money, not learning new styles. Not to say that I haven’ been painting, because I have been. Painting, scanning, printing, stocking, stuffing, matting, framing. But none of it has been focused at all on my blogging content because, well, I am not monetized. And while I am not completely dependent on my art to pay the bills, I’d like to end the year in the black. So here are a few things I have been working on for the gallery in Banner Elk. I’ll add them to my Gallery page, but this is a quick synopsis of the last few months of work. Also, I think it is important to remember that when you buy a piece of art and it costs a $100 or $300 or $1000, most artists deserve are not making the big bucks. We do this because we love it. Because a part of our soul goes into each painting and in return something beautiful is able to fill that space. BUT paper is @ $3 a sheet on average. Paint brushes start at $20 for anything decent. A tube of professional paint is $20. If I frame and matte a picture it’s at least $25 if I get the buy1get1 sale! That is all before I spend hours painting. Many artists are really feeling the pinch right now because budgets are tight. So, please, if you are able, support a local artist. Buy ART before all you can buy is AI. Thanks.
Mini prints of many of the paintings I have done recently, and a few that I did over the years that are favorites.
My ART all up on the wall after a hard day’s work cleaning up the wall and hanging! Whew! I am very much a flesh and blood real person! LOL!
